With temperatures in the low 50s, cloudy skies, periods of rain, and a 12-20 mph easterly wind, ten girls' teams from seven high schools competed in today's NJISA Spring Girls Championship at Toms River Yacht Club. Despite the challenging conditions, the sailors completed 10 races without incident.
The Pingry School sailed to victory, posting 8 first-place finishes for a total of 12 points. Toms River South finished second with 30 points, and Donovan Catholic's Griffins 1 team placed therewith 35 points.
Thank you to Dave Magno for serving as PRO, Brian Hull for tending marks and Donovan Catholic sailors Liam Marcell and Cameron Hart for their assistance on the patrol and race committee boats. US Sailing judges Harry Foote and Pris Betis were on site to hear protests, though none were filed for the day.
As always, many thanks to TRYC and BBYRA for their continued support of high school sailing in New Jersey.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
