SAISA SP#2 Summary:
Yesterday’s racing concluded successfully with six completed races before 4:00 PM, navigating a day of highly variable conditions on the water.
The morning began with a postponement due to a stalling northwest breeze, but as conditions shifted, the fleet was able to launch from the beach at 11:30 AM.
For the first four races, the early series was characterized by a light, steady northeast breeze holding between 5 and 8 knots. However, conditions escalated rapidly in the afternoon during races five and six. The breeze built quickly to a sustained 15 knots with gusts hitting 18 knots, dramatically shifting the pace of the regatta. This sudden increase in pressure resulted in a few capsized boats, but three dedicated safety boats were on the water to provide prompt recovery assistance as needed.
Ultimately, it was a dynamic day that tested the fleet across a broad spectrum of wind conditions, ending with a full scorecard and safe returns to the beach.
