Sail Newport's Friday Night Lights Series concluded with another great regatta. 4 races were completed in our trickiest conditions yet. We used the same course location as the last few weeks, right at the mouth of Newport Harbor, off Fort Adams' Volvo Docks. We ran two W4s and two W3s in moderate southerly wind. The breeze, was right of normal coming off the fort, and made for some large variability, keeping the RC and sailors on their toes.
Despite the tough conditions, it was great to see the great progress all teams made over the course of the series. The boathandling improved, the seamanship, and the racing got very tight as a result. Fewer collisions and fouling and the fun factor remained high throughout.
Thanks to a group effort by Prout, Middletown, and Narragansett for the after racing snacks and refreshments!
Thanks to Sail Newport for supporting!
Thanks to all who participated!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
