NJISA 2025 Girls Championship

Summary

Sunday, March 30:

The 2025 NJISA Girls Championship featured 18 teams from 10 schools, all looking to qualify for the MASSA Girls Championship next month. After a brief delay to let the fog dissipate, the girls hit the water for eight total races, five LA2 and three WA2 courses. The breeze remained relatively steady from the northeast at 7 to 10 knots.

Pingry's Megan Soos and Avery Hoffman took control of the regatta with seven of their eight finishes being a first or second. The Big Blue duo ultimately won by an impressive 21 points. Places second through fourth were separated by just four points, with Ranney's Nicole Small and Ameila Scuorzo in second, Toms River South's Maryn Demand and Emily Bell in third, and Summit's Grace Penque and Elodie Hellmuth in fourth.

These four spots will advance to the MASSA Girls Championship, which will be held on May 3 & 4 in Toms River.

Thanks to the boys from Christian Brothers Academy for once again running the event: Christopher Small '26, Jules Buczkowski '26 and Cole Buczkowski '27 with Coach Jason Lutz as PRO. Thank you to Dr. Randall Nunn and Brian Hull for also providing support on the water. As always, thanks to TRYC for hosting the girls for a great day of sailing.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
