Racing started at 11 am and continued to 5 pm when racing was suspended due to a line of thunderstorms moving in from the west. Wind was from the southwest, 10-20 mph, gusting 20-30 mph. The crews of several boats got baptized in the River Chuck. The first round robin and six races in the second round robin were completed. Many thanks to Michael O'Connor, the head coach of Harvard Sailing, for hosting us on day 1. He promptly handled a small number of breakdowns.
Onto MIT Sailing tomorrow.
Racing from the docks of MIT Sailing commenced at 11 am with a nice breeze from the southwest at 5-10 mph, gusting above 15. After noon, the breeze slowly died as a sea breeze built in Boston Harbor, leading to a break in racing. The 15 mph sea breeze filled in from the east at 2:00 pm and racing resumed. The second round robin was completed and the top 4 moved on to the next round. A champion was declared at the end of the final four round robin.
