NESSA Fleet Racing Championship (O'Day Trophy)

First day is in the books. Roger Rawlings, Chris Conley, and Chris Crane worked hard to get off 8 races per division in a shift Northwest to Westerly breeze that saw intermittent rain showers and sunshine. One protest was heard resulting in a DSQ.

Partial sunshine and a shifty NW/W 5-10 kts breeze again today kept the competitors on their toes. Eleven protests were heard resulting in 4 DSQs.

The competition at the top was tight with four schools battling for NESSA's three berths at the Mallory. The Hotchkiss School held off a late charge by Tabor Academy, St George's, and Brunswick School to win the 2025 O'Day trophy, their first win since 2019. Barrington HS, Greenwich HS, Fairfield Ludlowe HS, and Belmont Hill secured a ticket to the Phebe King Regatta.

Thanks to the Race Committee, the Jury, and Connecticut College for all of their hard work to make the regatta a success. Next week, we will do it all over again, when NESSA and Conn College host the ISSA National Championship.
