Corpus Christi Spring Opener

Summary

Saturday, March 8:

The day started foggy with zero breeze, 65 F at 0900 report time. A 1000 AP delay was used to do a chalk talk, move new boats onto new docks, and get sleepy teenagers going. The wind filled in with a mild sea breeze at 1030, racing started at 1045, wind SSE at 4 kts, small waves on the bay. Wind increased throughout the day of racing with most races run in 5-7 kts SSE. 8 races run before running into the day's time limit at 1530. A great day of racing in brand new C420's was enjoyed by all.

Sunday, March 9:

By agreement of all sailors the second day of the regatta was cancelled since we already competed 8 of 10 scheduled races, and all teams were "home".
