Sailors arrived to a beautiful fall day with SW winds much improved over the forecast at about 5 mph. Winds clocked to due S and held at 5-7mph with gusts higher.
On the varsity course, 10 teams representing 8 schools competed in 6 combined division W-4 races before the cutoff at 1:00. The JV course hosted 17 teams representing 9 schools for 7 single division W-4 races.
Varsity racing resulted in Christchurch Team 1 capturing first place with an impressive 34 points. They were followed by Hampton Roads Academy in second with 86 points, and Kecoughtan in third place with 91 points.
JV sailors congratulate Hampton Roads Academy on their first place win with 24 points. They were followed by Norfolk Academy varsity in second place with 30 points, and Norfolk Academy JV 1 in third place close behind with 33 points.
