Saturday dawned on 7 teams at the MASSA keelboat qualifier with clear skies and a 12 - 18kt gusty westerly. After a morning practice period, racing was started under code flag K but the breeze quickly built to sustained 18 with gusts over 30 and the first race was abandoned. Almost immediately on the sail in, a lower shroud failed resulting in a dismasting but thankfully no injuries. The wind remained in the 15kt range with gusts into the mid 20s. A spare boat was rigged and readied but ultimately not needed. After a long delay on shore, racing for the day was finally abandoned at 1500 with the first signal for tomorrow moved up to 0930.
A completely glassy morning gave way to a light and shifty breeze, oscillating through 90 degrees throughout the day and varying from 5 to 10 kts. After 5 races, a request for breakdown and one protest were filed, resulting in one DSQ. Thank you to our Race Committee consisting of PRO Loghlen Rickard with Saanvi Gupta and Chip Kreuzkamp as markset.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
