2025 SEISA Singlehanded Qualifier (ILCA6 Girls)

Summary

Saturday, September 27:

The SEISA Singlehanded Championship was hosted by Bay Access at Lakewood Yacht Club. 6 participants were vying to punch their ticket to Norfolk. The day started with a very light breeze which forced an AP onshore for 45 minutes. When we got to the racecourse the breeze was 5-8kts from the ENE. Direction oscillations were 15-20 minutes long over a total range of 30-40 degrees. A very strange behavior for Galveston Bay. Seven races were completed. Sydney Small from Clear Lake HS in Clear Lake, TX lead the day with wins across the board.

Sunday, September 28:

The SEISA Singlehanded Championship was hosted by Bay Access at Lakewood Yacht Club. 6 participants were vying to punch their ticket to Norfolk. The day started with a stronger breeze than Saturday. When we got to the racecourse the breeze was 8-10kts from the E. As the day continued the breeze rotated left to NE and decreased in intensity to 5-6kts. Five races were completed. Sydney Small from Clear Lake HS in Clear Lake, TX retained the lead followed by Madeleine Purdue from Clear Falls in Kemah, TX followed by Lily Poindexter from Lutheran South Academy in Houston, TX. Sydney Small will be the SEISA ILCA 6 Girls national championship representative.
