What a beautiful tree lined venue and day for some excellent racing for SAISA NP#2 and ACC qualification. 13 Varsity and 11 JV/Composite teams ascended on Jordan Lake for a fun day of sailing. The wind filled in out of the NNE and blew 5-9 knots throughout the day with 5 to 10 degree shifts. This enabled 12 varsity and 12 JV/ Composite races to be held. The racing was extremely tight with many boats finishing within seconds of each other all day. On shore the sailors and coaches enjoyed the Carolina hospitality and a hot chili lunch!
At the end of the day Porter Gaud from Charleston sailed consistently in A and B to finish first overall and qualify for the Atlantic Coast Championships! Other teams that sailed well in Varsity were Wando in 2nd, New Bern in 3rd place and John T Hoggard in 4th. In the highly competitive JV/Composite division the top 3 teams were River Bluff, John T Hoggard JV White John T Hoggard JV Blue respectively.
