NJISA 2024 BBYRA Fall Invitational

Summary

Saturday, September 28:

The 2024 BBYRA Fall Invitational Regatta featured 18 teams from 13 schools on a cool, misty day in Toms River. Sailors dealt with shifty northeast going east breeze throughout the day, with the velocity starting in the mid-teens but dropping to 8-12 knots for most of the afternoon. Eight W4 and four W3 races were completed by 1600 hrs.

Southern Regional separated from the pack as the day went on, using a string of race winners in A Division to put the regatta out of reach. Christian Brothers Academy's first team solidified itself in second place. Donovan Catholic was a comfortable third and Toms River South finished in fourth place.

Southern's Turner Ryon, Noah Tallman and Belle Placa won seven of the eight races as they won A Division by 12 points over CBA's Cole Buczkowski and Alton DeOliveria. In B Division, Jude Ryon, Gannon Botwinick, Tallman and Placa won by four points over CBA's Patrick Kennedy, Donald Johnston and Matthew Dupree.

Thanks to Dr. Randall Nunn for serving as PRO, Billy Porter for assisting on the RC, and Dave Magno for running the mark boat. As always, thank you to TRYC for welcoming us to the facility and to the BBYRA for continuing to support HS Sailing with the FJ partnership.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
