Solid day of racing for Day 1 of the Shepherd Championships. The fleet raced offshore of Monroe Harbor, in an 8-15 knot Northerly that slowly clocked right throughout the day.
For Day 2 of the Shepherd, RC elected to hold racing inside the harbor. One A race was completely in a fading SWerly. After two abandonments and a brief postponement, a medium Easterly filled and the remaining A race of the first set and two B races were completed by 1335. Unfortunately, this did not leave enough time for a 1-1 set to end the regatta.
Congrats to MUDJ for the strong win, as well as Seaholm and Dublin Coffman for rounding out the podium. Many thanks to all for coming to Columbia YC to join us for the 2024 Shepherd! See you all in the spring!
