Cressy Qualifier SEISA

Summary

Saturday, October 8:

The SEISA Cressy Qualifier was held at Houston Yacht Club. Eight sailors from around Texas made it, one sailor from Louisiana was delayed and missed the event. Thank you to all who entered, participated and the race committee which included parents and Houston Yacht Club coaches.

Under sunny skies and warm temperatures in the mid 80's, 8 quality races were run. Wind for race 1 was from 70 degrees at 8-10 knots. A 40 degree shift during race 2 was addressed by rearranging the course for subsequent races as the wind went further right all the way to 145 degrees. The wind peaked for races 4 through 6 at 15 knots. Race 8 was run in 8 knots and a lumpy conditions. Races took between 22 and 23 minutes as the wind speed changed. All W-4 courses. There was tight racing throughout with the final outcome determined on who had more second place finishes.

Congratulations to all the competitors and the SEISA ILCA 6 Cressy representative from Clear Falls High School. An ILCA 7 representative will be determined in consult with the District Secretary. Races 23 to 32 minutes

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
